My name is Christopher J. Mantei, and I am an instructor for American History, American Studies, Geography, Government, Montana History, World History, and other areas of study. I am incredibly passionate about all aspects of Social Studies. I am a proud parent of five beautiful daughters and a wonderful son and married to my loving wife. I enjoy every aspect of the outdoors; I particularly like whitewater rafting, hiking, camping, fly-fishing, rock-climbing, skiing, and gardening. Some hobbies include reading historical novels, watching old movies (i.e., Pacific and Generation Kill), writing, collecting artifacts/documents, and researching. I am a United States Marine (once a Marine, always a Marine); I was an infantryman, a 60mm and 81mm mortarman that had the opportunity to travel around the world. I am a member of the invasion force of Afghanistan as a result of the actions on 9-11. I was stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, when it was a Marine Barracks (like in the movie "A Few Good Men"). Then, I was stationed with the 1st Battalion 1st Marines in Camp Pendleton, California (this is the unit I was in Afghanistan with).

After my four-year duty and honorable discharge, I started my collagen career by achieving my undergraduate degree. I initially was studying architecture but soon realized that my family and history were my passion; thus, I switched academic directions. I graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman, earning my degree in history, secondary education, and a minor in coaching. In addition to being a classroom instructor, I worked in adult education at the Gallatin County Detention Center and as a researcher/instructor at Montana State University in Bozeman. I completed my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership at Montana State University in Bozeman. In addition, I completed my second Master's Degree at Montana State University in Bozeman for Curriculum and Instruction, focusing on research. Currently, I am the K-12 principal at White Bear Education Complex located White Bear 70, Saskatchewan.
